As I sat on the plane after an amazing week at the AKC National Championship, I reflected on the amazing campaigns that had cumulated in success by the end of that show.
Many think it is luck that gets you to the coveted status of Top Dog. To me luck is “where opportunity meets preparedness” so it that vein I thought I would do a post on planning the ultimate campaign for your dog show goals.
How to campaign your dog, the bullet list
This list is expanded in our “How to campaign your dog” mini course in Leadingedge Dog Show Academy.
-have a goal (this one seems easy but where do you want to be at the end of the year? The end of two years? Think this out!)
-Have a budget, this is going to be expensive, you don’t want to run out of entry money in July.
-give yourself milestones to evaluate whether you can meet your goal or not along the way.
-have an advertising plan
-have a good (actually great) social media plan
-be savvy on social media
-have great photos ready before you start your campaign
-act like a winner, share your knowledge whenever possible
-create your brand as you go along, the next campaign will benefit from it
-go with the flow
-always remember-it’s a dog show, they have them every day
